Fall is Right around the Corner

The kids are back in school and our summer is about to come to a formal close.  With the weather cooling down, and autumn just around the corner, we start thinking about the upcoming holidays.  We’ve even had some of our customers call to place custom orders for holiday gifts.  Congratulations to them for being ahead of the curve!

With that in mind, we must say, we should start planning ourselves, too.  So, to give a little inspiration for the upcoming fall season, we’re highlighting our Kipando basket.  This decorative hand-woven coil basket makes an ideal serving basket.  That’s right, it’s probably time to at least start thinking about the holiday season and serving your guests.

No, there’s not a bee in our bonnet, but there IS a bulletin on our site now.  We’re pretty excited to offer you a new way to keep in touch with what’s going on at bluedango and to communicate with us. We love hearing from you.

Many of you want to know more about featured products, our artisans, and what is happening at bluedango on a more regular basis.  And, we love to hear your comments and have you share your experiences with us, too.

So, we added a nifty ‘bulletin’ button to bluedango.com so that you can visit us any time you wish to see what the current buzz is.

Of course we’ll continue to issue our electronic newsletter, but for those of you who want more choices and more bluedango buzz, stop by, take a look at what’s going on, and subscribe.

Don’t be Shy…

Stand up, and join us in welcoming our newest addition, ‘Timidity’ to our distinctive collection.  Hand carved from raw wood in African, we are proud to feature this captivating contemporary sculpture.  Simple and contemporary in design, this extraordinary wooden sculpture captures a pose of a woman detaching herself from raw wood.

With her leaning torso, she embodies a fluid, yet subtle motion of being pulled towards humanity.  She is a truly the only one of her kind, a bluedango exclusive.

Rest assured, there are more wonderful additions from this new artist coming soon…we’ll keep you updated through our new, handy-dandy bulletin.  Wow, that bulletin is a great idea, even if we do say so ourselves. Doing Good in the Neighborhood

True to bluedango form, we love to be involved with people who are doing good in the neighborhood.  Recently, we’ve been fortunate to get involved with Chelsea and Adam, a couple of teenage students who are significantly involved in the Polar Bear International Project.

When they contacted us to see if we could help, we were more than happy to sponsor their auction by donating baskets and bowls made of organic fibers and recycled materials.  We wish them continued success, and we look forward to having the opportunity to work with them again.
