How should I arrange my living room seating?

A living room is typically a gathering room, so you want to arrange your seating to facilitate conversation easily. Inward facing seating arrangements that can seat 4 to 6 people are most conducive to conversation.

Distances of 4 to 10 feet are most comfortable. If you follow this general rule, you and your guests should have plenty of space to visit and move around comfortably.
